Laucala Island

Laucala Island Paradise – we all dream of it, but how many of us get to experience it.  I am one of the fortunate ones.  Transported from Nadi Airport on Laucala’s private aircraft and arriving to the sound of the Fijian welcome song, sung by the wonderful staff on the island, I knew I was in for something unique.  We were introduced to the ‘Jurassic Park’ type vegetation before being deliverd to our residence – a secluded world of considerable private splendour, exceptionally spacious and luxurious where no expense has been spared.  Strategically placed at the highest points or on the beach, they are all carefully sited to ensure maximum privacy.

Five restaurants for 25 villas?? Hard to believe, but it is true.  Dramatic outlooks from the Rockpool Bar and Seagrass restaurants are a sight that will be imprinted on my mind forever, and the cuisine is faultless.  While sipping cocktails after having circumnavigated the island on jetskis, stunning snacks were prepared and served by one of the many chefs – every whim is anticipated by the staff and served with gracious hospitality.

The island itself is a gem in its beauty. Rugged and covered by tropical vegetation, an abundance of palm trees and circled entirely by a turqoise coral reef beaches makes for all types of watersports and the equipment is all there for you to enjoy at no additional and all overseen by a staff who go above and beyond. Make sure you are there long enough to enjoy it all, unfortunately the deep sea diving and fishing just didn’t fit into my stay there.
