Chiva-Som & Travel the World - Terms & Conditions

Inclusions:

Your Chiva-Som Specialty Retreat includes the following:

  • Three delicious spa cuisine meals per day
  • A choice of daily massage (50 minutes) – Thai, Chiva-Som, Invigorating or Relaxing Foot
  • An individual health and wellness consultation on arrival
  • Daily fitness and leisure activities
  • Complimentary use of the Water Therapy Suite which includes Steam, Sauna and Jacuzzi
  • Plus the treatments specific to your Specialist Retreat

Deposit:

In order to hold space beyond the option date, a deposit of A$610 per person is required.  This amount includes a Travel the World Administration fee of A$110 per person which is deducted from the final balance.  If a deposit is not received by the option due date the booking will automatically be cancelled.

Finals:

Final payment is due in Travel the World’s office 21 days prior to departure from Australia. If a booking is made within 21 days of departure then full payment will be due on confirmation. For bookings during the period of 15 December & 5 January, final payment is due in Travel the World’s office 70 days prior to departure.

Late Bookings:

If a booking is made within 14 days of travel full payment is required immediately on confirmation. Once confirmed cancellation charges will be applicable.

Cancellations:

Should you need to cancel your reservation the following penalties will apply:

  • Cancellations made at least 14 days prior to guest arrival will be subject to a A$110 per person Travel the World Administration Fee.
  • Cancellations made within 14 days will be subjected to a cancellation fee of 50% of the total charges as well as a A$110 per person Travel the World Administration Fee.
  • Cancellation of bookings for the period 15th December to 5 January require 60 days notice. For cancellations made with less than 60 days notice a 100% cancellation fee will be applied.
  • “No Shows” and stays cut short will be charged a 100% cancellation fee.
  • Please note - For services not provided by Chiva-Som, additional cancellation fees may be incurred.

Christmas & New Year:

A minimum of 7 nights is required for all arrivals between 15 December and 5 January. A compulsory supplement of THB 15,535 will apply for the New Years Gala Dinner. This must be paid for at the time of final payment.

Taxes:

Specialty Retreats are costed in Thai Baht (THB) and subject to tax and service charge, currently 17.7%. (Subject to change without notice)

Restrictions:

  • Children under 16 years of age are not permitted.
  • Alcoholic Beverages are limited to Champagne and wine and are available on request from 6pm only.
  • Smoking is permitted in the resort but only in designated areas
  • Mobile phones are not permitted in the resort.
  • Check-in time is from 2pm and check-out time is 12noon.

Documentation:

A letter of confirmation and an information pack will be forwarded to you once final payment has been received.

Passports / Visas / Immunisations:

Travel the World & Chiva Som do not provide advice regarding passports and/or visas. However all guests are required to carry a passport usually valid for 6 months after returning to Australia, and any necessary visas. Please contact your nearest consulate for the most up to date information regarding visas. As to immunisations, please check with a travel medicine specialist or local health department for specific recommendations and/or requirements. We recommend the use of www.smartraveller.gov.au for advice in these areas.

Responsibility:

Travel the World accepts bookings subject to the following conditions:

  • Travel the World acts as the co-ordinator for all persons taking any service*, and in the making of arrangements for the service. Travel the World does not own, manage, control or operate any component of the delivery of services and all coupons, receipts and tickets are issued subject to the terms and conditions specified by the laws of the country where a service is provided.
  • Travel the World only as an agent for the owners, contractors and suppliers of services and assume no responsibility for the loss of or damage to baggage, property or for injury or illness or death, or for any damages or claims of damage to persons or property, delays, transport failures, strikes, wars & uprisings, or acts of God etc over which we have no control.  Clients are strongly advised to insure adequately for the full duration of their travel arrangements in respect of illness, injury, death, loss of baggage and/or personal effects.
  • While Travel the World will use its best endeavours to ensure services* are performed as advertised, reasonable changes in the itinerary may be made without notice where deemed necessary or advisable by Travel the World or the operator.  Further, whilst Travel the World will take all reasonable steps to provide enjoyable services*, Travel the World accepts no liability for any loss of enjoyment whatsoever, and howsoever experienced by a passenger.
  • All matters rising to any service* provided by Travel the World but not in respect of other things governed by the law of the state of New South Wales.
    * Service/s refer to all accommodation & hotels or accommodation, cruises, flights, ground transportation / transfers, meals & beverages, shore excursions and tours.

  • Complimentary use of the Water Therapy Suite which includes Steam, Sauna & Jacuzzi.
  • A cash credit to be redeemed against treatments from the Health and Wellness Menu.  The amount of cash credit will depend on the duration of your stay.
