Cruise Ship Guide

Overview

Coastal Voyage features a network of ships that have provided a sea link between southern and northern Norway for more than 100 years. Every day, year-round, vessels call at each of 35 coastal ports with a cargo of freight and passengers.

Tauck’s guests travel on one of the Norwegian Coastal Voyage ships, also known as Hurtigruten in Norway. They have modern facilities including stabilizers, elevators, laundry facilities and panoramic lounges, as well as ample deck space.

Breakfast and lunch are served buffet (smorgasbord) style with a sumptuous array of hot and cold dishes. Dinner is usually a fixed 3-course menu with soup or salad, entree and dessert.

Most guests relax in the evenings in the panoramic lounge to chat, play cards, or share impressions of the coastline. Ports of call continue during the night, and guests may take advantage of evening shore visits.

Coastal Voyage is not a cruise as most would envision. It is a journey by sea to discover the life, unique cultural traditions and geographic diversity of the coastal communities of Norway.
