 ms Swiss Emerald and ms Swiss Sapphire are the two newest riverboats in Tauck’s select fleet, ms Swiss Emerald was launched in 2006 and ms Swiss Sapphire in 2007 exclusively for Tauck. With three passenger decks, the yacht-like boats were custom-designed to comfortably accommodate 118 Tauck guests in 59 outside-facing spacious cabins and junior suites, ranging from 150 to 183 sq. ft., including 14 luxurious 300 sq. ft. suites that feature floor-to-ceiling windows, brocade upholstery, walk-in closets and marble baths with full-size tubs.
Boasting plush interiors, each cabin is equipped with a plasma TV, mini-bar, radio, safe, hair dryer, adjustable air conditioning and a private bathroom with shower, pampering Escada toiletries and terry cloth robes; power is 220 volt.
Guests will enjoy exceptional vantage points throughout the ship, where panoramic windows provide spectacular views of the passing shoreline. Culinary pleasures are many, from a spacious restaurant that offers menus designed for a variety of tastes to special events and evenings that celebrate regional traditions. In addition to a spacious topside sun deck, steam room, spa and 24-hour Jacuzzi, the ship invites relaxation in the library or in its teak-lined Lido bar on the Aft deck, boasting a 180º glass wall that fully opens for inside-outside cocktails at the end of each day.
