Thank you for your assistance in booking our recent holiday, in particular I would like to pass on our thanks to Elizabeth Lynch who was always very helpful. We have just returned from the most wonderful trip - Cruisetour 15 - 13 day Denali NB on board the Zaandam. From the time we arrived at Canada Place and our luggage was taken for us to the time we flew out of Fairbanks the Holland America people were wonderful. Everything was very well organised and everyone was very pleasant.

We loved our cabin on the Zaandam (AA Verandah 6181) and were so glad we booked a balcony cabin. We travelled with Canadian friends who were in the cabin next door so it was lovely to have the adjoining balcony door open so we could share the experience together. The staff onboard the Zaandam were wonderful - always so happy and friendly. The food was beautiful and we had open dining which we were very happy with - we got to meet some very nice people when dining in the dining room.

We were very lucky to have beautiful weather for the first 4 days when visiting Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway but the grey skies in Glacier Bay and College Fjord did not spoil the beauty of what we saw there. We feel very privileged to have seen all those amazing glaciers - we even witnessed Marjory Glacier calving which was spectacular. We saw seals, eagles, whales, porpoises and gulls in this area.

The two men in our group did the Helicopter/Dog Sledding tour in Juneau which they loved and we all did the White Pass railway trip in Skagway which was excellent.

We disembarked the ship in Seward and enjoyed a very scenic trip to Anchorage. Our tour guide was lovely and always very helpful. We stayed in the Hilton in Anchorage which was very nice. The next morning we departed on the McKinley Explorer to Denali. We loved the train trip with the glass domed carriages. The scenery was spectacular.

In Denali we stayed in the McKinley Chalets in Denali for two nights and did the Tundra Wilderness tour which was amazing. We were lucky enough to see grizzly bears with cubs, moose with calves, caribou, a ptarmigan, fox, ground squirrels and hares. Denali is a beautiful place and we are one of the lucky 30% who manage to see Mt. McKinley without cloud cover on our first day.

From Denali we had another wonderful trip on board the McKinley Explorer to Fairbanks. We stayed at the Westmark in Fairbanks which was good. We enjoyed the El Dorado Gold Mine tour and the cruise on the sternwheeler Discovery.

It was a truly amazing trip and we have many wonderful memories. I have not attached any photos because I have yet to sort our many, many photos out but I am sure ours will be just like the hundreds of others you receive from similar trips. We took over 2,000 photos on the Alaskan part of our trip!

Thank you again for your assistance with our booking and I look forward to receiving a copy of Journeys of a Lifetime so we can start planning our next adventure.
