L'Austral to bring classic symphonies to the seas

Premium French cruise line, Compagnie du Ponant is taking guests on a musical journey through Europe this September and October. The luxury small ship cruise line’s newest jewel, L’Austral, which debuts this month, will host three cruises featuring renowned international musicians from the musical genres of opera, classical music and gypsy violins.

Enjoy a magical moment of opera on the 8-day Festival at Sea: 'Et vogue l'Opéra’ cruise sailing from Venice to Athens and be entertained by a talented cast of eight mezzo sopranos, sopranos, baritones, tenors and pianists under the artistic direction of Jean-François Vinciguerra. Ports of call include Piran (Slovenia), Trogir and Dubrovnik (Croatia), Kotor (Montenegro) and Corfou and Itea (Greece). Be whisked away by the intoxicating notes and moving melodies of world-famous orchestra, the Budapest Symphony Orchestra of 100 Gypsy Violins as seven of the orchestra’s leading violinists and cymbalist together with Master Violinist, Jozsef Lendva Csocsi and Artistic Director, Sandor Rgio Buffo, accompany the 8-day Budapest Gypsy Symphony Orchestra cruise. Sailing from Athens to Istanbul, this cruise explores the unspoilt shores of the Aegean Sea visiting Delos, Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes and Symi (Greece), the Turkish ports of Kusadasi and Dikili. Discover the mysterious West African coast in the company of 13 internationally renowned classical musicians, including Trumpeter and Artistic Director Guy Touvron on the 11-day Symphony cruise. Departing from Marseille (France), guests will sail to Barcelona (Spain) – home to the great masters; Picasso, Dali and Gaudi. Sailing south along the Mediterranean Sea, this cruise will then visit the Moroccan ports of Tangier, Casablanca and Safi. In Safi guests will have the opportunity to visit the imperial city of Marrakech before lazing on the immaculate beaches of the Canary Islands en route to Dakar (Senegal).
