Alaska with Carnival

We very much enjoyed all aspects of the trip we took in April/May 2011 this year. We found all the accommodation booked by Travel the World to be excellent, particularly The Hilton at Whistler and the Paramount in Seattle.

Cruising on the Carnival Spirit was also excellent. Alaska would have to have been our favourite destination. We were lucky enough to see orcas (killer whales), bald eagles, bears, otters and other creatures unable to be seen in Australia. The shore excursion on a smaller boat up into the Tracy Arm Fjord will remain in our memories forever.

All arrangements made by Travel the World were excellent, all transfers accomplished easily - fellow travellers not dealing exclusively with your company experienced difficulties which we did not. As we returned with over 1000 photos and many videos, it is difficult to decide which part of the trip was the highlight - perhaps while on our whale watching boat in Juneau off a glacier not seen very often due to inclement weather. As one of the places on earth where it rains more than 360 days a year we were extremely fortunate to experience what amounted to a heatwave in Alaska, with sunny skies every day.
