Windstar & Travel the World - Terms & Conditions
Deposit:
In order to hold space beyond the option date a deposit of A$1213 per person is required at Travel the World’s office by the “Option Due Date” on your confirmation invoice. If the deposit is not received by this date, your cruise will automatically cancel. This amount includes a Travel the World Administration Fee of A$110 per person. If the optional Cancellation Protection Plan is required it must be paid for at the time of deposit.
Finals:
Final Payment is due at Travel the World’s office 100 days prior to departure from Australia.
CPP:
Windstar's Cancellation Protection Plan will allow you for any reason to cancel up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled cruise departure and receive a refund equal to 80% of the applicable cancellation fee. In addition Windstar automatically assumes an additional US$500 of liability for lost, damages or delayed baggage of guests who purchase CPP. The price of CPP varies between destinations and sailings, so please contact our Reservations Department to obtain a quote. The Cancellation Protection Plan needs to be paid for at time of deposit.
Cancellations:
Travel the World charge an Administration Fee of A$110 per person on all cancellations. This fee is paid with the deposit and deducted from the final balance. Please note that this fee is charged regardless of whether or not CPP is purchased.
In addition the following Windstar cancellation penalties apply:
90 – 60 days prior to departure - Loss of deposit
59 – 30 days prior to departure - 50% of Gross Fare
29 – 0 days prior to departure - 100% of Gross Fare
Please note: For services not provided by Windstar Cruises, additional cancellation fees may be incurred.
Amendments:
To cover administration costs, a minimum charge of A$75 per person will be charged if you request a change in your travel arrangements less than 91 days prior to commencement of travel. Amendment fees are not charged for stateroom upgrades unless travel documents need to be reissued.
Documentation:
Cruise documents are prepared in the USA and will be sent to you approximately 30 days prior to sailing. It is most important that all reservations be made in the full passport name of the passengers. If a name change is required after documents have been issued, a fee of A$100 per person will be charged for a reissue.
Passports & Visas:
All guests must carry their valid passports. In addition, certain countries may require entry visas. Passports and visas must be valid for the duration of travel and all passports must be valid for at least six months beyond intended stay. Guests are responsible for securing the proper documentation for the countries visited.
Responsibility:
Travel the World accepts bookings subject to the following conditions –
Travel the World acts as the co-ordinator for all persons taking any service* and in the making of arrangements for the service. Travel the World does not own, manage, control or operate any component of the delivery of services and all coupons, receipts and tickets are issued subject to the terms and conditions specified by the laws of the country where a service is provided.
Travel the World acts only as an agent for the owners, contractors and suppliers of services and assumes no responsibility for the loss of or damage to baggage, property or for injury or illness or death, or for any damages or claims of damage to persons or property, delays, transport failures, strikes, wars & uprisings or acts of God etc over which we have no control. Clients are strongly advised to insure adequately for the full duration of their travel arrangements in respect of illness or injury, death, or loss of baggage and personal effects.
While Travel the World will use its best endeavours to ensure services* are performed as advertised, reasonable changes in the itinerary may be made without notice where deemed necessary or advisable by Travel the World or the operator. Further, whilst Travel the World will take all reasonable steps to provide enjoyable services*, Travel the World accepts no liability for any loss of enjoyment whatsoever and howsoever experienced by a passenger.
All matters rising to any service* provided by Travel the World but not in respect of other things governed by the law of the state of New South Wales.
* Service/s refer to all accommodation & hotels or accommodation, cruises, flights, ground transportation / transfers, meals & beverages, shore excursions and tours.
