Cruise West & Travel the World - Terms & Conditions

Deposit:

In order to hold space beyond option date the following deposits are required:
Spirit of Oceanus departures - A$1581 per person
All other vessels: 7 night cruises or longer - A$845 per person
                                6 night cruises or less - A$625 per person
The above amounts include a non-refundable A$110 Travel the World Administration fee which will be deducted from your final balance.  If we do not receive your deposit by the due date, the booking will automatically cancel.

Finals:

Final payment is due in Travel the World’s office 100 days prior to departure from Australia.  If a booking is made within 100 days of departure then full payment will be due on confirmation.  This does not apply to Early Booking Savings, please refer to the brochure for these due dates.

Amendments:

An additional charge of A$110 per person will be assessed for changes to your travel arrangements including name changes made within 60 days prior to departure or after the issuance of travel documents, which ever comes first.

Cancellations:

Once a deposit has been received all cancellations are subject to a Travel the World Administration Fee of A$110 per person.  In addition the following Cruise West penalties apply:
90 days or more prior to departure - US$200 per person, which can be used towards a future cruise
89 – 61 days prior to departure - 25% of fare or amount of deposit, whichever is greater
60 – 31 days prior to departure - 50% of fare
30 – 0 days prior to departure - 100% of fare
Please note - for services not provided by Cruise West, additional cancellation fees may be incurred.

Gratuities:

Gratuities are now included in the cruise only price on many of our cruise programs.  For shore tours and land extensions, a gratuity of US$2 to US$3 for drivers and US$5 per day for shore exploration leaders can be presented to the person directly.

Dining:

Breakfast and lunch are open seating during set hours.  Dinner is served with open seating and at one designated time as this allows for friendly, casual dining.  For all meals there will be options but please be aware that with fewer passengers, the ability to accommodate every need becomes difficult.  However, Cruise West will try to make any accommodations as long as we are notified in advance.

Passports & Visas:

All guests are required to carry a passport valid for 6 months after disembarking the ship and any necessary visas.  Please contact your nearest consulate for the most up to date information regarding visas.

Documentation:

Cruise documents are prepared in the USA and will be sent to you approximately 21 days prior to the departure of your cruise.  It is most important that the reservation be made in the full passport name of the passengers.  The cost of replacing documentation is A$55.

Shore Excursions:

Shore excursions are available for you to book prior to departure online at www.cruisewest.com or upon embarkation.  There will also be further opportunities to book shore excursions, however, some of the more popular excursions may be sold out.

Responsibility:

Travel the World accepts bookings subject to the following conditions –

Travel the World acts as the co-ordinator for all persons taking any service* and in the making of arrangements for the service. T ravel the World does not own, manage, control or operate any component of the delivery of services and all coupons, receipts and tickets are issued subject to the terms and conditions specified by the laws of the country where a service is provided.

Travel the World acts only as an agent for the owners, contractors and suppliers of services and assumes no responsibility for the loss of or damage to baggage, property or for injury or illness or death, or for any damages or claims of damage to persons or property, delays, transport failures, strikes, wars & uprisings, or acts of God etc over which we have no control.  Clients are strongly advised to insure adequately for the full duration of their travel arrangements in respect of illness or injury or death, loss of baggage and personal effects.

While Travel the World will use its best endeavours to ensure services* are performed as advertised, reasonable changes in the itinerary may be made without notice where deemed necessary or advisable by Travel the World or the operator.  Further, whilst Travel the World will take all reasonable steps to provide enjoyable services*, Travel the World accepts no liability for any loss of enjoyment whatsoever and howsoever experienced by a passenger.

All matters rising to any service* provided by Travel the World but not in respect of other things are governed by the law of the state of New South Wales.
* Service/s refer to all accommodation & hotels or accommodation, cruises, flights, ground transportation / transfers, meals & beverages, shore excursions and tours.
